When and why was born Emmebi Edizioni Firenze

Emmebi Editions Florence was born on June 8, 2005 by Mary Margaret Bulgarini for over fifty years editor, author and director of Publishing House Bulgarini Florence; in the years  she shared her activities with his father Dominic and his brother John.

The extraordinary experience in teaching and publications for the school that Mary Margaret has gained over this long time has been transposed into Emmebi (acronym built on the initials of his name) Edizioni Firenze, with one difference: expanding the proposed editorial also areas not only provide the school to try to capture the different "kinds" of public (schools precisely, library, now also tourism and magazines)  in order to enrich the contents and forms.

Story of adventure

The "birth" of a publisher sometimes takes characters of adventure and challenge:  in 1948, after the disasters of war, in Florence destroyed by bombs, the father of Mary Margaret, Domenico Bulgarini, novelist and playwright, receives, from an  author of latin books,  the rights of a textbook, as a gift. With courage and selflessness, from nothing, relying only on that book, he creates a small publishing house dedicated to the school, where Mary Margaret, upon graduation, in his early twenties and former teacher of literature, began working in the afternoons left free by the school.
Those years are difficult: to build a publishing house while at the same time has yet to be born a whole nation. After several years working, the brother of Mary Margaret, John, begins to work in Bulgarini, and the association between the father and two sons, albeit among a thousand obstacles, the small company began a slow takeoff. Dominic's father, who disappeared in 1966, has not fortunate enough to witness the prodigious explosion of the publishing house that occurs in the seventies. The Bulgarini becomes the publisher par excellence of "geography", but then also the history and Italian, also enjoying outstanding success with teachers with necklaces of art and science. In recent decades, the publishing house Bulgarini from nothing, has emerged as one of the first publishers in Italy.

The adventure continues

After so many years Mary Margaret Bulgarini still has the strength and desire to get into the game: With two sons who work with her, Maria Donata and Mark leave the historical brand Bulgarini grandchildren and opened in 2005 Emmebi Edizioni Firenze. It 'a major challenge, because it is new again from nothing in a world, publishing, crossed by a profound crisis. But the passion for books, for their writing and their visuel, is stronger than any doubt.

The challenge starts.
